Coach Ozturk is an exceptional coach! He has in depth knowledge of the game, can read the game better than many coaches and will teach players more about the game than most coaches. If you are a player that expects things to be handed to you, guaranteed playing time, guaranteed starts, one that doesn’t want to put in 110% effort every time you step on the field and isn’t willing to step outside your comfort zone to try new things, then coach Ozturk is not for you and maybe you need to look at the level of soccer you are playing and maybe you need to take a step down in levels. Coach Ozturk, like most high level coaches at the highest club levels and college level expect all of these things out of players. I don’t know any COMPETITIVE college program that guarantees starts and playing time. Players are always competing against each other for time on the field. That is college soccer. You’re competing against teammates/friends for playing time. If a player isn’t willing to try what a coach wants, a good coach is going to find someone that is, because the ultimate goal is for the team to have a success. Coach Ozturk gives players what they need to succeed but players have to trust in the process and sometimes step outside their comfort zone or what they know in order for the process to work and have success. What worked at a youth level may not work at the college level and same from game to game. Coach Ozturk can read the game and knows what adjustments can be done for players to have success. Players who trust the process have gone from good players to amazing players under Coach Ozturk’s coaching. He has taken teams of mediocre players who should not have had success and turned them into teams that had a ton of success and won championships, because the players trusted his process and all gave 110% all the time. Sure if was tough and didn’t come overnight, but the success started coming and when the girls saw the benefits of their hard work they started having more fun and even worked harder because they knew they could become even better under Coach Ozturk’s coaching. Success doesn’t happen overnight. Most coaches get upset after losing a game as great coaches are always looking at how they can improve their team. Players get upset after losing games, it’s human. Coach Ozturk is no different. He cares about players success and is always thinking of ways to help. Players/parents etc should never approach a coach directly after a loss because a great coach is replaying the game in their head trying to figure out what they can do to improve the team for the next game. Coach Ozturk is no different. He cares enough that he wants to find ways to make the team get success and he starts thinking about this immediately. Nobody likes to loose and just like in life if you fail at something you often have to work harder to have success. Coach Ozturk has the knowledge and coaching ability to have any team have success, but the players HAVE to be willing to put in the hard work, effort and trust his process to have success. Once you do this, success will come and hard work and 110% effort becomes the norm and players have fun. Players who trusted the process, worked hard, and saw the benefits, will tell any player that it’s worth it in the end. No matter how good you are, there is always room for improvement. College soccer is another level and if your not willing to go the extra mile, then maybe you should only play club level in college as any college coach is going to push you. Coach Ozturk has the ability to bring out a players best abilities on the field if you just put in effort and trust his coaching. Coach Ozturk will be honest on what you need to improve on. If you can’t handle honest feedback, then coach ozturk is not for you, nor is any great coach. Great coaches like Coach Ozturk, will always be honest. If you are a player that loves the game of soccer, realizes that everyone can improve their game, and is willing to put in effort you would be fortunate to have coach ozturk as your coach. If you are a player that thinks they are great and have nothing to improve on and you think you can just get by with what you’ve always done and aren’t open to new things, then coach Ozturk is not the coach for you.

Read through the posts, several real several not, strangely negatives will get multiple positives immediately following them as if rating is what matters. My experience is that we had a positive result after a hard 2 win season and then COVID came. We lost Coach Jacob before we could get going again. The negatives summed nicely throughout the posts. Still talking to my therapist about this coach. Teammate vs teammate constant wondering if you start or substitute. No consistency in game or practice. Always wondering of the mood practice game bus. #CrazySmart. Wishing the team success.

I have been a part of the Michigan Tech University Women's Soccer program for over two years, and I have the utmost respect for Coach Ozturk. He is professional and well prepared for every training session and match. He treats the team with respect and empowers them to influence decisions that impact the whole team. His strategic vision and tactical execution is unmatched. As I read some of the positive comments about his leadership and style, they are spot on.

Coach Turk's coaching approach was not only ineffective but also raised serious concerns about mental well-being. Throughout the season, his behaviors and actions appeared to border on mental abuse. The coach's communication style lacked professionalism and often included belittling comments that had a detrimental impact on players' confidence. This toxic atmosphere hindered the team's ability to perform optimally. Furthermore, Coach Turk's favoritism and discriminatory treatment of certain players created a divisive environment that exacerbated the harm. Witnessing his frequent outbursts of anger and demeaning behavior during practices and games was deeply distressing. It was evident that these actions were causing emotional distress and anxiety among the players.

Coach Turk is awesome! He cares about his players and encourages them to reach their potential while instilling accountability across the entire team. Parents and players who don’t appreciate his style of leadership are often more concerned about playing time and not team performance and results. Turk coaches at a university level and his decisions are aligned to what is best for the program.

Coach Ozturk is extremely knowledgeable of the game. He has a great passion for the game and to share that knowledge with his players. He coaches more than the x's and o's. He coaches the tactics behind the plays and explains/shows players why another option might be a better choice. Players learn to think more about the game and as a result have more success. He gives players the knowledge they need to be sucessful, but how successful a player becomes depends on the player putting in the work and applying the knowledge they were given. Coach Ozturk is always looking to improve his coaching skills to stay up to date with the evolving game of soccer. He can read the game and make adjustments on the fly unlike any coach i've seen. He knows the strengths and weaknesses of his players and uses that in his game tactics to better the team;s success. The knowledge my child learned under Coach Ozturk's coaching improved her tremendously. Any player with a passion for the game of soccer would be lucky to be coached under Coach Ozturk.

Coach Ozturk is by far the best coach I’ve ever had. Turk will help his players learn the game at a high level and will help players truly understand why they make the decisions they make on the field. Coach Ozturk cares so much for every player he coaches, and wants to see his team succeed. Turk helps his players be the best overall soccer player that they can be, and will help his players. If it wasn’t for Coach Ozturk, there is no way that I would be the player that I am today. Coach Ozturk is an amazing college coach and has a bright future for coaching the game of soccer, which you can clearly tell means so much to him! I highly recommend Coach Ozturk!

Coach Ozturk is at best a mediocre club team coach. His strategies and game time decisions are questionable. I am truly happy that my daughter no longer has to tolerate his after loss and off field antics. Ozturk is like a lot of true narcissist, he presents well outwardly, but once you see what is behind that curtain stay very far away. Team culture and acceptance is left to the players and he does not care for their success. He is hot and cold, mostly scalding for the mental aspect of the players. MTU is treading on legal issues with some of his antics and the right parent/lawyer interaction.

I’ve had the privilege of accompanying Bulut on several ECNL tournaments and college showcases during his time with MTA. You couldn’t ask for a better leader to coach a team. Bulut is extremely knowledgeable of the game and is dedicated in always looking to improve his coaching skills. He is always well organized, a great communicator and motivator. He creates a positive team atmosphere and know how to get the most from all his players. I credit Bulut for much of the coaching knowledge I have. He’s been a great mentor for me as well as his former and current players.

As I read through these reviews, I think that it is important to keep in mind which level you are looking to have him as a coach for. Club, you will be around him a few times a week and there is limited access to all areas of a players life. College, a coaches reach, is much greater. They have the ability to affect many more aspects of your life. A life with (in my experience) much more demanding schedule, academics, and time commitment. He cares a lot about getting results but not much about the impact he has along the way. He is hot and cold so you’re never sure how he will act from day to day. While everyone is entitled to have bad days, he lets external factors impact how he treats people. It’s added stress to figure out if you have to tip toe around him for unknown reasons. On those bad days, he has a tendency to become “threatening” in his attempts to push players. Although, this is when I find him to be the most honest about what he thinks of you. When in a good mood and these issues are brought up with him, he’s very good at making players feel heard. Making when feels like steps in the right direction; until the next bad day roles around and nothing has changed. That aside, he knows the game well. He has good strategies that he wants to be second nature to his players. That can be very helpful when change is needed mid game and it can’t wait until there’s a break in play. Personally, I did not find that there was enough balance between being knowledgeable and a good person to deem him a good coach. Players look for different things in coaches and he was just not the right fit for me.

My children played multiple sports at an early age and continued their athletic careers through college. Like many veteran parents, I have seen it all…the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to sports. It didn’t take long to recognize that Coach Ozturk was special. For starters, he delivers classroom sessions to communicate game strategies and tactics which increases understanding and promotes a system of unity with accountability. He believes that developing-athletes need time off the field to execute the coach’s vision, so he invests it. He is patient and respectful, and always eager to celebrate personal and team accomplishments, as well as communicate opportunities for improvement. Training sessions are planned in advance. They are well organized and challenging. Matches are well-prepared but remain flexible. His ability to read the game and make adjustments based on conditions, performance and/or competition is unparalleled. Coach Ozturk believes in his players, and in turn, they believe in themselves. This allows teams to play bigger than they ever thought they could, and to aim higher than they ever thought possible. He creates a winning culture by injecting a high level of confidence. While academics comes first, he does expect student-athletes to plan according to their workload to achieve balance. Coach Ozturk cares about the team and creates a family atmosphere where every member has a role and an opportunity to contribute. As a parent who has had multiple children on highly competitive teams, it’s rare to have a coach who checks all the important boxes….knowledge, commitment, professionalism, caring, and results….and Coach Ozturk does!

Turk is the best soccer coach I’ve had. His passion for the game is contagious and that makes him a very inspiring and motivational coach. He knows how to take a group of good players and make them into a team connected by common purpose, by both talent development, good chemistry building, clear game plans, and excellent motivation. Those that disliked him did not share the same drive to win and the same competitive spirit that is necessary at a high level. They did not feel motivated by him because they did not accept, but feared the challenges he laid in front of them. Any good coach knows he must challenge his players if he is going to get the best out of them. If a player sees that as a threat, then they are not dedicated to the game and the sport the way that an elite player should be. Turk has a firm and direct coaching style that leaves room for nothing but what is best for the team. He has a very high sense of belief in his players and that also leads to high expectations for his players. Again, for those with a passion to win, a coach that expects the most out of you, is exactly what you’d ask for. Players that seek challenge and are driven for success will find him to be like-minded and personally invested in their goals. Players that fear the challenge of being pushed shouldn’t play for Turk, or any other great, high level, coach that wants to win.

Bulut is a great coach to have! He gives 100% of his energy to coaching and to helping you develop as a player. He's honest with you about the level you are at, and if you are commited to the process and the team he will help you become a better player. He's passionate and knowlegable about the game, and will give you the tools and instruction you need to improve yourself and the team.

I worked with him little bit of time through my coaching career. I learned to be better coach better person from him.

Turk is the best sports coach I have ever had. He gets to know his players and caters his coaching style to each individual in order to get each player to reach their full potential. He is also very open and will answer any question whether it be about specific situations in the game or about how to improve or get more playing time. As someone who grew up playing multiple sports I can say with confidence Turk is the best coach I have ever had!

Turk is a coach who cares about each individual player on his team. He wants to see you succeed on and off the field. Turk will push you to become the best version of yourself. I’ve seen him take loosing programs to the top after one season, and that stems from his passion for coaching.

Turk is one of the best coaches that I have ever had. He has had the experience of coaching at every level and that experience shows with his knowledge of the game. I had the privilege of being a captain for Turk and truly showed me the belief that he has in his players capabilities. Does he care about winning? Of course, I wouldn’t want to play for a coach that doesn’t want to win. However, his priority is always his athletes and I have seen that first hand. Turk coached me at the semi-professional level and helped me pursue a goal of playing professionally. I would not have been able to get there without him. Through all the teams I have played for, I still come back to Turk being one of the best coaches I have ever had regardless of level. If you have the opportunity to play for Turk, you can’t go wrong. He will truly help you and your team reach new heights!

Turk is an incredible coach! If it wasn’t for Turk, there is no way that I would be the player that I am today. Turk truly cares about his players and wants to see his players have success and grow as players and as people. Turk is super knowledgeable and makes sure to share his knowledge of the game with his players. Turk helps his players see the game in different perspectives and is great at making on the fly changes during games. Turk believes in all of his players and will help you if you ask him for help. Turk is able to realize his players’ true potential and will push them so they can reach their potential. With Turk, it is important to trust the process and be willing to soak up every bit of knowledge and information he shares with you. Turk knows what it takes to get results, and knows that in order to get the desired results that hard work is necessary. Overall, if anyone asked me about Turk as a coach, I would have nothing but great things to say about him since he has helped me drastically. Without Turk as my coach, I would never have became the player I am today and I am truly grateful for all that he has done!

My daughter had Bulut as a coach unfortunately she was older I wish she would have had him at a younger age she had a lot of coaches but none as knowledgeable of a sport making a team come together as him. He has the ability to put players in the right position to make the team win .He honestly out of all the coaches my kids have had is my favorite! He believes in his players and pushes them to be the best athlete they can be. He creates a family for the players and that was so important to my daughter her school experience was not the best so the team she was on made a big difference. Anyone who gets to experience Bulut as a coach is very lucky !!!!!!

Coach Turk is the perfect balance of intense, knowledgeable, direct, understanding, and dedicated. He is a once in a lifetime kind of coach and helped my development as a player and as a person so much. I am so grateful to have had him as a coach and learn from the best of the best.

Turk is such a wonderful coach and I feel honored to have played for him for a couple of years. He has so much knowledge on the game of soccer and uses that knowledge to win every game. He is a coach that finds a way to win no matter what- whether that be implementing a trick set play, man marking a certain player, changing formations or positions, or subbing in new players to change the flow of the game. He always finds a way to win and our team was a perfect example of that. Turk’s leadership led our team to get accepted into many prestigious tournaments and win them. Being on a winning team obviously stems from a lot of hard work (fitness, knowing that the best players will be on the field, taking constructive criticism from coaches). But being on Turk’s team makes you excited and motivated to push yourself and make sacrifices for your team because you know you’ll win! The team culture he pushes for and believes in will help you develop a great relationship with the coach staff & your teammates. Turk is an outstanding coach and also a great person who will always have your back!

My first year having Turk as a coach taught me how to work for what I wanted. I wasn’t an amazing player but he still saw potential in me and gave my other chance for the next year. He always pushed me and told me what I needed to do to improved. Once I proved myself he acknowledged that and gave me great opportunities to continue to grow. He pushed our team but not to the point where it was too much. I really liked his coaching style, and our team was very successful. He was really intense which made us care more about how we were playing. He was crucial in my development, and I’m thankful I had him as a coach.

Nothing but positives! Turk always does what is best for his players, whether you are playing, on the bench, or injured. He listens, cares about the game and ALL his players. He is one of the greatest coaches hands down. Turk has insane knowledge of the game tactically, and knows how to teach this to just about anyone he coaches. Personally, I am, and have been at my best when playing with Turk as my coach. He makes every practice rewarding, energetic, and FUN. I leave every practice a little better than the last. Oh, and winning. You win when Turk is your coach.

I had Turk for many years and he was the best coach I’ve had. His knowledge of soccer was immense, shown through well-timed tactics and classroom sessions. He will be one of your biggest advocates, stand by you, and try to help in any way. He cares about you as a person and wants to develop you on and off the field. His training sessions are efficient and turn you into a great soccer player. His coaching points are never degrading, but instead are constructive.

By far the best coach my daughter ever had! Truely cares about each and every player on the team. Has an incredible knowledge of the game and wants to share that with every player. Realizes potential in players and pushes them outside their comfort zone to become better players. Results don’t come without hard work. Knows what is needed to gets results. Takes time to think of well prepared practices and strategizes for each game. Can recognize things during games and make adjustments on the fly. Players need to trust the process to not only improve themselves but the team as a whole. Improvements don’t happen overnight. Coached many players to become D1 and pro players. My daughter would have never become the player she is today without soaking up the knowledge she learned from this coach and being pushed outside her comfort zone. The knowledge learned has proved to be so valuable.
