Top 5 College Hockey Players to Watch in 2017

Save to my locker

Watch these top hockey players continue the success they saw in college.

5. Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson, Center, Boston University (Boston Bruins)

A 2015 second-round pick of the Boston Bruins, his skating has progressed, and Jakob is one of the best two-way centers in college hockey.

“We use him in so many situations. He’s got such poise. He’s so elusive. He’s a great skater. It’s an underrated part of his game. He’s shifty. He’s tough to defend. He’s got a great stick. He’s got a great head for the game. He’s got incredible composure and mental toughness. It’s why we use him to the point of exhaustion,” Quinn said earlier in the season.

4. Henrik Borgstrom, Center, The University of Denver (Florida Panthers)

Borgstrom might lack muscle, but he makes up for it with his stick handling. It is hard to stop him when it comes to one on one situations.  His stick skills are a force to be reckoned with.

3. Colin White, Center, Boston College (Ottawa Senators)

Colin White is the complete package and has what it takes to play at the NHL level. While there might be more exciting players out there as far as watching is concerned, he has proven himself as far as scoring. He is on point when it comes to being effective in all three zones.

2. Tyson Jost, Center, University of North Dakota (Colorado Avalanche)

Jost isn’t the biggest player on the ice, but he does his job well and is consistent. He is a smart player who will help his team win games. Since he can change positions quickly, he is one of the best at working below the face-off dots.

1.Clayton Keller, Center, Boston University (Arizona Coyotes)

If you watched Keller, you would agree he is the most exciting offensive player in college hockey. He tied second with scoring nationally, with 29 points in his last 20 games. Keller’s a threat with his amazing puck-handling abilities, and he can anticipate opportunities on the ice. He is the guy to watch, and we can not wait to see what he does this year.
