Ben Reinisch graduated in 2019 from Trinity College. He was a two-year starter and led the Bantams in at-bats. He was also the 3rdon the team in hits, doubles walks (6th in NESCAC) and stolen bases (9th in NESCAC). Thomas Reinish, Ben's father, played baseball at Coastal Carolina University and coached at George Washington University. He sat down with Ben to talk about what he would have done differently, what advice he can give high school parents who are going through the recruiting process, and more.
Thomas says “When it comes to recruiting, there is no ‘best part,' it's all a hard part,” but “When your child is interested in… and working toward something… that's really gratifying.”
When it comes to the challenges of recruiting, in hindsight, Thomas says “We didn't really identify the critical parts of what you needed in a school… The most stressful is knowing which school is the best fit.”

While recruiting is the student's job, Thomas said parents should be involved: “You need to give the child their space, but you need to be involved. These are family decisions.”
