The Bowling Green State University Ice Hockey program is led (was led) by Chris Bergeron. Coach Bergeron has transformed a less successful team into national prominence. This past season Coach Bergeron has to lead the team to win its fourth consecutive winning season. In the 2016-2017 season, the men's ice hockey team made it to their first conference championship appearance. That same season they skated their way to the WCHA Championship and clinched the conference title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. While talking to Coach Bergeron
2aDays learned that he is a coach that will push his players to be the best they can be, on and off the ice. He makes it a point to know all of his player's strengths and weaknesses, and he then encourages them to work hard. 2aDays sat down and talked to this great coach about what it is that his look for in an athlete, what do they look for as far as SAT/ACT and GPA is concerned, and what type of behavior can remove you from his radar. One of the things that Coach Bergeron mentioned that we believe is an excellent ingredient to have to be a good coach is, “I'm hard but fair.”
