Keandre Jones, an Olney, Maryland native, stands at 6 feet and 3 inches tall and weighs in at 220 pounds. The linebacker played for Ohio State and delivered 29 tackles and one sack. At Ohio State, it is said that Jones did whatever it took to win. In 2016 he played in five games as a true freshman; in 2017, he played in all 28 games. He won the Cotton Bowl in 2017 and the Rose Bowl in 2018.
After playing for Ohio for three years, he decided to play for Maryland. Returning to his hometown of Maryland, where his family and friends are, is a dream come true for him.
“It was a great opportunity for me to come back home and be around my family and friends,” Jones said on Glenn Clark Radio March 24. “[To] finish out my senior year where I started playing football and to be able to play in the Big Ten was something I always dreamed about. Playing in a league like this and getting to go back and play against Ohio State was a great experience.”
Jones was a team captain for Maryland. In the one season that he was at Maryland, he racked up 74 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss (tied for seventh in the Big Ten), seven sacks, three forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. Now that's impressive!
Jones is ranked the No. 48 linebacker prospect and the No. 425 overall prospect, according to CBS Sports' 2020 NFL Draft prospect rankings. One thing is certain–Jones has all the ingredients to play at the next level. He has leadership, size, speed, agility, and a high football IQ. He was an undrafted free agent for the Chicago Bears.
