Steve is an outdated coach who does not know how to be honest with people or treat people with respect. He has not kept his knowledge of the sport up with modern times and does not understand how to make swimmers faster. Most swimmers do not improve on his team. Steve is also a liar to boot, he makes promises he can't keep and does not communicate.

Steve is a good guy who knows a lot about swimming. He’s a good coach, just very different in his style.

Thankfully, Coach doesn’t make D1 athletics unbearable/too difficult as many schools do.

He has no idea how to actually train swimmers who don’t benefit from what are basically all sprint workouts. He also has no idea how to put together a conference team, or train people for a third event so almost everyone ends up swimming the 50 at co Terence.

Steve is a good guy who beats around the bush. His clarity with athletes is not there and his effort is clearly lower than his previous years.

He doesn't seem to care about anything and gives little effort. He will tell us at practice to "go faster" and when his swimmers ask for advice and how, he responds with "find a way". He's a coach. He needs to give us tips and help us. He is disrespectful and closed minded. He is hard to talk to about things. He is horrible with communication

He claims to be very knowledgeable of the sport, but this knowledge is only conveyed to his favorites. He is difficult to communicate with, and he is too passive. He does not keep his team accountable and the continuously poor results from the men's team proves this. He needs to change if things are to improve, but it's clear he won't do that

Steve is an outdated coach that refuses to change with the times. His methods are repetitive and relatively ineffective. If you are not on Steve's list of favorites, he hates you and will make it know he doesn't like you.

Steve is an excellent recruiter, but he is a horrible coach. He makes his swimmers feel small and unimportant. He pretends to be invested but it is clear he truly does not care. He only pays attention to swimmers on scholarships and ignores the rest of the team.
