Coach Galvin is one of the nicest, selfless, and most genuine people I have ever met. He truly cares so deeply for every single one of his athletes and does so much for each of them. He creates such a fun and positive atmosphere for his athletes and loves to see them succeed to their highest potential. What I love most about Coach Galvin is that he puts you first with academics and athletes at a very close second.

Derek is a wonderful person. He truly loves UNC and cares about each of his athletes as people. It can be tough to get him to make changes and at times it can seem like he is not paying attention, but usually he has a lot on his plate and is running from place to place or thinking about running from place to place. He always has a smile on his face and asks you how your day is going. Be prepared for him to repeat himself a lot in meetings as well.
