You Were Recruited for a Reason You Were Recruited for a Reason

In my second semester freshman year, I was going through a rough patch. My confidence in my volleyball skill was crushed. I didn’t think I was good enough. This led me to become homesick and my grades to be below average. 

Then I had a talk with my assistant coach and he said to me “don’t forget why we recruited you. We recruited you for a reason so just be yourself.” It made me realize that I had no reason to question my ability. I was hand-selected because of my skill and character, so why would I think any less of myself? 

Be who you were recruited to be and stop asking yourself if you’re good enough, you are where you are for a reason!
