Dr. has been a for the Athletic Department at the University of Alabama since 2003. He describes his coaching style as “Fifth Quarter Coaching.” He is passionate about helping all student-athletes at the by assisting them with setting achievable goals, creating action plans, creating accountability, and following through.

He is considered one of the main reasons for 's athletic success. As one of Nick Saban's very close staff members, he was able to share some of the experiences he has made in his 17 years in working with Alabama athletes.

A former student-athlete himself, he understands the struggles that student-athletes go through. Other universities recently noticed the impact he has had on the Alabama , and teams such as the Missouri Football team ask him for life coaching advice.
