Student-athletes train very hard to excel at their respected sport. While some of these athletes are just playing for fun, others have goals of playing beyond high school, through college, and hopefully in the pros. If an athlete wants to go the extra mile, then they need to make sure that they are putting in the work off the field or, in this case, the ice. Eating the proper meals and choosing the right snacks can be a challenge. A lot of energy is lost during a game, and it is important that hockey players get proper nutrients.
The following guide was created with input from NHL trainers and staff. It features a game day meal plan for hockey players. The information provided is sure to keep players going strong and is intended to help them before and after the game.
